MarketCheck reveals used EV prices have flatlined after two years of decline

MarketCheck, the UK’s leading source of used vehicle market data, has today revealed that used electric vehicle prices have largely flattened over the summer, suggesting the market may finally be emerging from the sharp price drops of recent years.

MarketCheck data shows that the average sold price of a used EV stood at £22,625 in July 2026, virtually unchanged from £22,603 in June.

The figures indicate that the market has entered a period of price stability following a prolonged period of decline.

Used EV prices fell from £24,353 in January 2025 to £21,564 in April 2026.

However, since reaching that low point in April, prices have recovered and then plateaued.

The average sold price increased to £21,921 in May, before rising again to £22,603 in June and remaining basically unchanged in July at £22,625.

The data suggests that the significant depreciation seen across the used EV market during 2024 and 2025 may finally be beginning to ease.

Alastair Campbell, MarketCheck UK, commented:

“For much of the past two years, falling prices have been one of the defining characteristics of the used EV market. What we’re seeing now is something very different.

Prices have recovered from their spring lows and have remained remarkably stable throughout the summer.

A stable pricing environment creates greater confidence for both retailers and consumers and makes it easier for businesses to forecast values.

MarketCheck will continue to analyse any emerging trends across the UK automotive market.”
