Price of a used Tesla hits record low in the UK

Marketcheck, the UK’s most significant source of data on the UK used car market, has published data on the performance of the Tesla market.

Sales of used Teslas continued to increase from January 2025 until March 2025, reaching 2,951 models sold that month. There was however, a decrease in sales in April 2025, falling to 2,347 (a decrease of 604 or 20.47%), the lowest monthly sales total so far this year.

The average last listed price of all four Tesla models has continued their downward trend. Models Y, X, 3 and S have all seen a decrease in cost of over 30% between May 2023 and April 2025.

The average last listed price of a Model Y sold in April 2025 was £29,938. The Model Y has seen the largest fall in price over this time period, falling by 36.39% from the average last listed price in May 2023 of £47,068. This is the largest drop in price of all four Tesla models over the period covered by Marketcheck’s analysis. The price has fallen by 5.92% between January 2025 and April 2025, decreasing by £2,785.

The Model S has seen the largest drop in average last listed price this year. The average cost fell by £3,147 (11.91%) in the first four months of 2025. In January, the average last listed price was £26,983, falling to £23,447 by April. Compared with May 2023, the Model S has fallen by 31.09%, with an average £34,024 price tag in that month.

In April 2025, the Model 3 became the first used Tesla to fall below the £20,000 mark in the UK. In this month average last listed price fell to £19,842, a decrease of £11,222 (36.13%) compared to May 2023 and a 5.66% (£1,759) since the beginning of this year.

The Model X remains the most expensive used model available in the UK market. In May 2023, the average last listed price was £51,934. This has fallen by £17,519 (33.73%) in April 2025. The average last listed price does not appear to be significantly related to market supply. Sales of the Model X have ranged between 51 and 102 between May 2023 and April 2025. Fewer cars were sold in April 2025 (79) than May 2023 (92).
