Top most expensive used cars listed this year – Marketcheck UK data

Marketcheck UK, the most significant source of data on the UK used car market, has today published the most expensive used cars listed for sale so far this year. The top three most expensive cars are all Ferraris built in the 1960s. Leading the ranking is a 1962 Ferrari 250 listed at £1,499,990, with just 99 miles on the clock. The second most expensive car in Marketcheck’s analysis is a 1965 Ferrari 275, listed for the slightly lower price of £1,495,000 with a mileage of 43,000. Rounding out the top three is another, slightly newer, Ferrari 250. This 1964 model is listed for £1,494,995 with 54,760 miles.

Another Ferrari is next. At just one year old, the 812 Superfast, listed for £1,390,000 with just 345 miles, is the first Ferrari in the analysis to be built in the 2000s.

The first and only Bentley in this ranking is an S1, listed for £1,350,000.

The remaining cars in this ranking have all been built since the 2010s. A 2014 McLaren P1 with 1,500 miles for £1,300,000. The only non-British or Italian car, a German 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder listed for £1,275,000.

The remaining two cars are both listed for £1,200,000. A second 812 Superfast Ferrari, slightly older with a manufacture date of 2022 with 1,006 miles makes next on the ranking. The final car listed is a McLaren P1 Auto with 8,900 miles.

Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, commented: “These data are an interesting look into the high-end used car market. For those looking to invest in the very top end supercars there are currently several excellent choices. British brand cars enjoy a large market share, but Italian Ferraris seem to remain the most popular choice. Prices for cars built in the 20th-century trend slightly higher than their newer counterparts, suggesting a slight preference for older models at the luxury end of the used car market”
