Marketcheck, the UK’s most significant source of data on the UK used car market, has today published statistics revealing a record-breaking month for used EVs in August 2025.
Marketcheck analysed the total number of used EVs sold between May 2023 and August 2025, including the average last listed price each month. Last month, 22,200 used EVs were sold, the highest monthly total during the two years covered by Marketcheck’s study. In August 2024, a total of 15,082 used EVs were sold, representing a 7,118 (47.20%) increase when compared with August this year.

Used EVs have also become significantly cheaper during this time period.
Between August 2024 and August 2025, the average last listed price across all EV models fell by £2,414.94 (9.83%).
