MarketCheck, the UK’s leading source of used vehicle market data, has today revealed that the UK’s used electric vehicle market showed signs of cooling in June 2026, with sales volumes falling for a second consecutive month as average sold prices continued to rise.
A total of 27,612 used electric vehicles were sold during June, down from 30,367 in May and well below the 34,932 vehicles sold in April, which remains the strongest month on record.
While volumes have eased, prices have moved in the opposite direction.
The average sold price of a used electric vehicle reached £22,603 in June, up from £21,921 in May and £21,564 in April, representing the highest average sold price since January 2026.
The figures suggest the rapid growth in used EV sales seen earlier in the year may be beginning to ease off.
Alastair Campbell, MarketCheck UK, commented:
“After a very strong start to 2026, we’re now seeing the used EV market settle into a more measured pattern. Sales volumes have eased over the past two months, but at the same time average sold prices have started to strengthen.
That’s an encouraging sign for retailers. Earlier this year the market was heavily driven by value, but rising transaction prices suggest supply and demand are becoming better balanced.
The coming months will show whether this is simply a seasonal slowdown following a record April, or whether the market is entering a more stable phase with healthier pricing and steadier levels of demand.”
