Fall in price of a used EVs stops as prices begin to rise

Marketcheck, the UK’s most significant source of data on the used UK market, has today published statistics on the cost of a used EV so far in 2025, finding signs that the steady decline in price is potentially coming to an end.

Used EV Last Listed Price 2025 graph

The analysis conducted by Marketcheck found signs that the price of a used EV in the UK may be reversing trends and beginning to increase. Prices between January-March remained steady but experienced a sharp decline until August. In March the average last listed price of all used EV sold in the UK was £24,373.81, falling by £2,211.79 in August, when the average price reached £22,162.02.

Signalling potential concern for drivers looking to make a switch, between August and October, the average last listed price rose by £1,359, from £22,162.02 to £23,521.

Alastair Campbell, Marketcheck UK, commented:

“After a prolonged period of falling prices, we’re now seeing the first signs that the cost of a used EV may be starting to climb once again. Between August and October, average prices rose by over £1,300 – a sharp shift following several months of steady decline.

This could mark a turning point for the used EV market. With demand remaining strong and supply tightening in some areas, price increases may become more common heading into 2026. For drivers considering the switch to electric, now could be the time to act before prices begin to firm up further.”
